Like the other established languages, Karbi too should have own alphabet. In the early state both Eastern Nagari and Roman were used to write Karbi language. Later Eastern Nagari was used officially by Karbi Lammet Amei. Now however have changed into Roman due to ease and popularity of use. However to write Karbi phonemes both Eastern Nagari and Roman cannot do away some issues. Keeping view of all those issues, I, Sarthe Teron Milik have created Karbi scripts along with typography glyphs. For further details about the Karbi alphabet, please read my book ‘Arleng’. There I have some reasons why and how we need separate script.
